Russell Berry 1938-2019 RIP

I told Russell a few years ago I hoped and expected driftwood from him until he was 85 or so. He made it close to 82 and was still bringing me boatloads of driftwood until just a few weeks before he passed. We can post a few pictures for now but I will try and find his music video to post as well. He was unique. When a rattlesnake bit and killed his dog at the Point Peter boat ramp Russell hunted the snake down and killed it. He was firmly convinced the snake had been planted there to take him out. Driftwood wars I suppose. Good on ya Russell, your conspiracy theories were way better than most people worry about.
From 1974 on Russell was our driftwood man. From when I was a kid, with my buddy Wallace and we sat in the driftwood lake each day, searching the black water for treasures. The day was over when we could hear Russells Ford F150 4 wheel drive struggling back what passed for a road to collect our days collection.
He could rebuild a gun, a truck, an outboard motor and way more. He was a good man forgotten by time or at least a man who lived in his own time and place each day.
